Working from his studio in the beautiful  Somerset countryside, artist Steve creates paintings commissioned by his clients.

Steve loves visiting portrait galleries where he enjoys absorbing the history and techniques of the old Masters. He is self-taught and reads a lot as part of his study of art, as there is always something to learn from any artist. He says that learning about all the forms of art will never stop.

“I fell in love the works of Rembrandt,” says Steve, “and the skills of John Singer Sargent in the many hours of study in London gallery’s where I went almost daily.”

He specialises in portraits using oils and charcoal as well as painting landscapes and still life.
